Akshara — Sanskrit for "the imperishable" — is a small studio shipping Sanātana wisdom in the format the world is currently reading.
In Sanskrit, akṣara carries three meanings at once: the syllable, the letter, and the imperishable. Each one is a doorway into the other. To name a thing is to give it a syllable; to write a thing is to fix it; to grasp the imperishable is to dissolve the difference between syllable and silence.
The Bhagavad Gītā opens its eighth chapter with Arjuna asking what akṣara means. Kṛṣṇa's answer is simply: परमं ब्रह्म — the supreme Brahman. Everything else in the chapter is gloss on that one word.
We took the name because the corpus we ship from is, in that exact sense, imperishable.
A billion people scroll a feed every day. Sanātana Dharma is the spiritual inheritance of a fifth of them — and almost none of what they scroll past comes from that tradition. The feed is not neutral; it rewards whatever holds attention. So far, that has mostly meant outrage, novelty, and noise.
We don't think the feed is going away. We think it can carry better cargo. Every reel we ship is one piece of better cargo, placed into the same scroll the algorithm controls — written by hand from primary sources, voiced by computers, free.
Primary text — Vedic recensions, the principal Upaniṣads, the two Itihāsas, and public-domain recordings of contemporary Sanātana teachers.
When the source is audio, we transcribe word-by-word with timestamps to preserve the original cadence.
A model — supervised by us — selects the moments that work as standalone teachings. We discard ninety percent.

Akshara has no founder face on the feed. We don't sell courses by personality. We don't interpret the texts beyond what the tradition itself does. The reel is a window, not a sermon.
Eventually we will offer a paid membership — for the people who want a deeper library, a weekly satsang, a place to study cohort-style. Until that exists, everything we ship is free.
The studio is operated out of a family that has, for ten generations, kept the Sanātana corpus inside its home rather than its temple. We are not monastics; we are not gurus. We are householders who happen to know where the texts say what they say.
